This Privacy Policy explains what information PropDolphin collects, how it's used, and the rights you have over it. We built PropDolphin to collect as little personal data as possible — this page explains exactly what that means, in plain language.

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how PropDolphin (“PropDolphin,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you visit our website or create an account. PropDolphin is an informational tool that surfaces MLB player prop analysis; we do not accept wagers, process bets, or handle payment or gambling account information of any kind. By using PropDolphin, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

Information We Collect

We collect a limited set of information, split into three categories:

  • Account information. When you sign up, we collect your email address and authentication credentials via our authentication provider. We do not collect your name, date of birth, address, phone number, or payment details unless you choose to provide them separately.
  • Usage data. We automatically collect limited technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps of activity, primarily through server logs.
  • Content you provide. Any information you submit through support or contact requests (for example, the contents of an email to us).

We do not collect sensitive personal data (such as government IDs, financial account numbers, or precise geolocation), and we do not knowingly collect payment card information.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

PropDolphin uses a minimal set of cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies, and we do not run cross-site tracking or ad-retargeting pixels.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and secure your PropDolphin account and session
  • Communicate essential service-related information (e.g. security alerts, policy updates)
  • Diagnose technical issues and monitor the reliability of the platform
  • Analyze anonymized, aggregated usage trends to improve features

We do not use your information for targeted advertising or sell it to data brokers.

Legal Basis for Processing

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we process your personal data under the following legal bases: performance of a contract (to provide the service you sign up for), legitimate interests (to secure and improve the platform), and consent (where you have given it, such as for optional preference cookies). You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

Data Sharing and Third-Party Service Providers

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share limited data only with service providers who help us operate PropDolphin, under contractual confidentiality obligations:

  • Neon Auth & Neon Postgres— authentication and database hosting. Neon processes your account credentials and email on our behalf, per its own security and privacy practices.
  • Sportsbook and market data providers— we retrieve public odds and prop line data from third-party APIs. No user data is sent to these providers; the data flow is one-directional (their odds data to us).
  • Hosting infrastructure— our application and logs are hosted with infrastructure providers who may process data solely to deliver hosting and security services.

We may also disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PropDolphin, our users, or others.

Data Retention

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy:

  • Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active.
  • Deletion requests are processed within 30 days of verification; backups containing your data are purged on our normal backup rotation, within 90 days.
  • Server and security logs are retained for up to 12 months for abuse prevention and diagnostics, then automatically deleted.

Data Security

Account data is stored on Neon, a serverless PostgreSQL platform that encrypts data at rest and in transit. Authentication tokens are secured via HTTP-only cookies, and access to production infrastructure is restricted to authorized personnel. We follow industry-standard security practices, but no method of transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access— request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction— request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion— request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
  • Portability— request a machine-readable copy of your data.
  • Objection / restriction— object to or request that we restrict certain processing.
  • Opt-out of sale/sharing (CCPA)— not applicable, as we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Non-discrimination— we will not deny you service or otherwise discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@propdolphin.com. We will respond within 30 days and may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

Children's Privacy

PropDolphin is not directed to, and is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

International Data Transfers

PropDolphin's infrastructure providers may process and store data in the United States or other countries. Where we transfer personal data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms, to ensure your information remains protected consistent with this policy.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. We will update the “Effective Date” above and, for material changes, notify registered users via email. Continued use of PropDolphin after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
